Very first u’ve to know exactly what u want. It’s depends on what u do with computer. If u a graphichs designer or make animation with pc then Mac is a good choice. I don’t think Mac laptop is a very good choice. You can buy a effective IBM compatible laptop with Intel Pentium-4 processor with required RAM and disc space. IBM compatible Pc or laptop is much more simple to sell if u choose to alter model later.

This is one of the biggest caveats, if THE biggest, of owning an Apple machine: Poor upgradability. Everything is tied up to each other.
Anyway, you should do a comparative analysis between your current machine and the one that you desire. Place this against your actual needs, your projected needs and cost of ownership. If you find your needs outweigh the costs, then do so and buy the new one.
I personally think that your Powerbook G4 is good for at least another six months. And chances are by that time there’ll be a new Mac notebook model far more powerful (and expensive) than the current ones.
