Query by ᴳᴵᴿ: What are the “rules” for charging a laptop..?
I was told that you should not over charge a cell phone. That you will need to unplug it as quickly as it says ‘fully charged’ considering it can otherwise harm the battery, and make the battery last less longer. I was wondering if this very same “rule” applies to laptops?? Is it negative to preserve your laptop plugged in soon after it says it is 100% charged?

Question by hokiepokie1982: How can I fix my laptop sound card/audio so it functions with out having to apply pressure to the laptop?
I’m getting some difficulty with audio on my HP Pavilion zv5255us laptop.

The sound card/audio does work so I know it’s not a dilemma with the drivers, but I can only get sound when I apply pressure to the laptop, typically near the headphone jack. This takes place when attempting to listen by way of the speakers and by way of headphones. I’ve recently bought a Turtle Beach Audio Benefit Amigo to help the situation and it does work perfectly with headphones but I do not feel there is a way to have it function by way of my laptop speakers. As I travel a lot I don’t want to have to purchase external speakers to listen to audio with no headphones but I am willing to do this if essential. I must also note that I will by buying a new laptop in about a year so I do not want to make any pricey repairs/upgrades on this laptop.

This is most likely due to a poor connection somewhere within the laptop, most likely close to the sound car or speakers. Your only genuine option it to pull the laptop apart, and look for lose connections somewhere. It could be a poor pin, shed wire, or a solder that came loose somewhere.

The definite fix for this would be to replace the motherboard. I had a video issue as soon as on a desktop that was very similar, only worked with pressure on the port, I opened up the Pc, jiggled some wires and connections, and then it was fine.

1. The browser on your laptop could be using a version of the MSN page stored in the browser’s cache.
