Question by Michael: How to attach a pc monitor to stand whent the holes are incorrect?
I bought a laptop monitor and vertical laptop stand for dual monitor set up. Even so the monitor i already owned wont fit onto the stand. The issue is that the hole are simply in the incorrect spot. Are there names for set ups on back pieces for monitors? If so would there be an adapter of some sort? I dont envision this getting such a difficulty that there is an actual market place for anything like this. but who knows.

It looks like you are dealing with the VESA mounts. Go on google and search for vesa mount converters.
Take measurements on the hols and go from there. Normal vesa mounts are 200 x 200.
